To thrive together
Ethical & Environmental Procurement
We’ve brought in a new Ethical & Environmental Procurement Policy (EEPP) to help us buy well
and inform suppliers of our business practice expectations. Our EEPP was introduced by our
Doing Business Better (DBB) Supply Chain team – one of 12 DBB working groups in the company.
The EEPP will continue to help ensure high standards in health & safety, labour, environment,
and business ethics. It also includes our Supplier Code of Conduct outlining our expectations
that suppliers align with the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) in nine areas including wages, child
labour, and working hours.
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (E,D&I) Plan
In March we launched our 昀椀rst E,D&I plan to help ensure that we consider colleagues’ needs in
the best way that we can. This has seen the start of many projects, including work to become a
Disability Con昀椀dent employer.
Supporting Health & Wellbeing
At the start of last year, we asked colleagues what mattered most to them in a Health &
Wellbeing survey. From eating more fruit and veg to exercise opportunities, support networks,
and inclusive social events, we received plenty of great ideas. In April, our DBB Thrive team
turned this feedback into action, launching a plan to support colleagues’ physical, mental, and
social wellbeing. One small part of this has been the introduction of free fruit baskets in the
of昀椀ce and regular yoga sessions - both of which have been very popular!
Personal Development
We have joined the food industry mentor programme, Flourish in Food, with Area Account
Manager Jack Titley partnered with Aaron Brudney at Biotiful who will mentor Jack, aiding his
personal growth and industry understanding.
Sales & Negotiation Training
Following on from the successful completion of the 昀椀rst Sales & Negotiation Training course,
a second group of 11 colleagues took part in selling and negotiation training as part of our
commitment to the long-term learning and development of colleagues.
RH Amar Values Awards
In August, we introduced our new Values Awards to celebrate colleagues who have demonstrated
one of our company values through their work. Each month, colleagues can nominate their peers,
with a small prize for each of the individual value winners.
